No, the aggressor should be the one to make concessions in any discussion of ending their war. If they don't the US should step up their support of Ukraine.
Obama didn't want to be seen as the guy who started or prolonged foreign wars, it's the reason he let Syrian's burn and choke from Assads attacks, and didn't repsond with any kind of Militiarized response to Russian invading Crimea. Biden tried rectafying this ... slowly, Trump is playing that card
But what would they get for this? If Russian occupied territory is recognized as Russian, Ukraine must in return get into NATO, including protection of nuclear umbrella. A red line for a red line.
