The problem for Putin is that meeting with Zelensky would basically be the end of the Russian narrative of Zelensky not being Ukraines legitimate leader. For Zelensky there would be only little to gain, but even less to lose.
No surprise whatsoever.
But only without witnesses. Because Zelensky would pin him down on international law and all the points (of which there are plenty) where his arguments are rather weak. Putin only meets with people where it is foreseeable that the conversation will be controllable and easy.
In the end, it's just Putin the aggressor who ends up in the spotlight.
A meeting between Putin and Zelensky would lead to neither peace nor a ceasefire.
Putin will never meet with Zelensky in a 1:1 meeting. He is afraid! Iβm not sure when this will become clear to Donald. π
