⚠️🇺🇦 More than the size of England: about a quarter of Ukraine's territory is mined. 📌The UN estimates that there are already more than 1 million mines and unexploded ordnance in the country. According to experts, a quarter of the territory is contaminated, writes The Guardian.

📌As noted, mines and shells kill hundreds of people and make roads, parks and forests dangerous. In the Sumy region and in the south of the country, families died right on civilian highways, where Russians planted new explosive devices, including from drones.

📌Mine-related incidents happen so often that some residents do not even bother to report them. 📌Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, just under 1,000 people have been injured by mines and explosives, 359 people have died, including at least 18 children.

Sadly, I think there are considerably more than 1 million explosives to clean up. Hundreds of millions of ordenance has been used, a unknown % of that never exploded. Unexploded submunitions from cluster munitions alone will be insanely high. In addition to the 2 million+ mines placed.
