Today it does. I was never a member but when I was young many decades ago it did not mean that. It has degraded into to the filth it is today.

The right to bear arms was written when the US was lawless in many parts of the country, therefore it has been obsolete for more than eighty years. Many countries that have strict gun laws don’t have the gun problems we constantly hear about in the USA and their society hasn’t imploded as a result.
