Truth and wisdom.
Definitely. He said, "You put something off because it will never be perfect but it needs to be done so you obsess over it then anxiety steps in and makes it all worse." Both are fear based. Xo
Truly a viscous circle.
It truly is. Xo
I can see that
Perfectionism is cognitive/belief based and procrastination is one of the ways in which people cope with the unrelenting pressure.
thank you
My late husband, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, said procrastination is an expression of fear.
Yes, it's all fear. After being shamed and criticised so much for not being perfect the first time. Xo
It helps me when I can identify those verbal attacks from the past as specifically from back then, and just contradict them on the spot. Sometimes that gives me the breathing space to go forward. And then that habit keeps helping me more as I use it.
Sounds like excellent advice. That's pretty much what my therapist says as well. Xo
It takes practice but it does help. (Sometimes I add rude exclamations directed at the person/people who used to humiliate me! That helps too.)
Thank you, starting this week. Haha I love it. Xo
Cosmic man, cosmic.
