I'm old (and Brazilian) enough to remember disabled kids begging in the streets while wheeling around in rolling carts, victims of some of the last polio outbreaks before vaccination wiped it out. This is insanity.

I'm old, too. I had a school friend who was disabled from polio. She needed many surgeries to her spine. Madness, indeed. If the Americans want to extort us all to pay for their federal health and drug agencies, maybe we should pay them!

I remember getting the polio vaccine sugar cube. I'm sure my parents were grateful for that opportunity.
