Just to close the circle, I was once in the first boat that rose on a wave in the middle of the Pacific, higher than the deck of this destroyer ,
Not meaning the first to ever do it, I mean in the first pix
I didn’t even know you could have 8 foot waves on Tahoe. How do you look out at conditions like that and think “yeah, today’s the day for some boating”?
8 foots are SERIOUS waves
That’s serious white capping
Honestly surprised this guy’s mother didn’t say “I don’t like these vibes here. let’s not go.” Maybe she did and was pressured into going. My mom won’t leave home if she even thinks it’ll rain.
Not forecasted. *Thinks* it will rain LOL
I’ve seen those a couple of time on Lake Ontario. Yeah, don’t get on the water with that happening.
8 foot swells are rough for sure but somebody sober would have been able to make it to shore
Strong disagree.
I’ve been out on real bodies of water when storms roll in suddenly and been fine surely something as small as a lake this shouldn’t be a problem
Ok, we disagree.
if you look into the crash it was actually his third time ever sailing a boat
That sort of storm is the one you lose "experienced" folks in, because they are too sure of themselves
I wasn’t actually familiar with how big lake tahoe is. I’ve never been to utah so I just kinda figured they didn’t have bodies of water like that
Yeah! I totally get you! Until you see it, you would think it was a pond!
I’m a bit biased tho because I’m nice at sailing
