Heh, I know all of these things, but thank you. ;) I was more commenting on how ignorant the NYT must assume its readers must be if this is the slop they turn out. Sadly, I'm guessing they are correct in their assumption.

Like “yes those boxes are (probably) accurate for him, and also any misfit might be because the boxes are fucking flawed anyway despite being the most accurate option for him to check”
