Aren’t all teams over the cap floor?
Aren’t all teams over the cap floor?
Teams have to stay above the floor. They can't unload assets at the trade deadline and fall below the floor. Acquiring Price's contract can help them with that.
That’s why I’m saying that no team is in a rush to acquire Price’s contract. They can wait until after Christmas if they want to. Although imho I think Hughes won’t wait that long and would prefer not to go into in season LTIR.
Multiple reports of deal in place already and will be announced tomorrow...
I know Scott. But are they credible sources? I don’t believe everything I see on social media. A lot of rumour mongers. I’m hoping they are right but if not, I still believe the #Habs will move Price’s contract before the season starts. Not to acquire a 2C immediately but to get out of LTIR.
Well 1 of them certainly is ...has called many many trades a week before they happened..
Hopefully he’s correct. Who would that be?

Time be clear, I think the #Habs would like to unburden themselves from Price's contract before the season begins... but depending on how things work out a potential acquisition could come as late as the trade deadline.
Absolutely...and I am convinced a deal is in place NOW , not only to move contract but to add 2C . BOTH.
If they wait, then acquiring the contract costs them an asset. If they take it now, they receive an asset. If Hughes goes into the season with Price still a Hab, it makes zero sense to trade the contract. It won't matter as it will be on LTIR, damage done. No benefit to the Habs moving it later.
Agreed. Thus it makes sense to move him prior to the season starting.
