Lao Tzu would agree.

That puts me in rather better company than I deserve. I reckon Lao Tzu had a closer understanding of how to conceive of the inconceivable than I will in this go round. I do at least wonder, for quite a while now, what ‘existence’ is. So I may make progress in an incarnation or ten.

After the first few millennia, they get easier. This turn, I have taken a more eastern position. Why conceive of the inconceivable? Why not just accept it as it is? It exists well enough without my perception, one way or the other. And existing is merely accepting, as well.

Many consider jazz transcendent. Perhaps they are onto something. I have found that letting go opens more possibilities than hanging on. YMMV, as always.

I like jazz, and also other musical modes. Whatever sneaks in through the psyche’s back door and helps us let go is good. I’ll add that one of the aphorisms attributed to Gurdjieff is "Take the understanding of the East and the knowledge of the West—and then seek."

The broader your perspective, the more accurate your view. The East and West should complement each other, not compete. We are part of a “whole” that is a very small part of an even bigger “whole.” Which is nowhere near “complete.” The more you learn, the less you know. Boredom is a choice.
