PS: Xi is full fledged authoritarian; Trump still in authoritarian wannabe stage. Xi and Chinese Communist Party can compel oppressed Chinese to financially suffer more severely and longer than Trump can financially harm Americans even MAGAs. Xi can also rightfully blame Trump's tariff aggression.
I think people in this country have already reached their pain threshold. IMO that's why Trump put a pause on the tariffs, to keep the market from crashing even further.
