Scotland is a different case being the oldest oil refinery in the UK and you can hardly argue there is a future in oil. Port Talbot has a future but not using inefficient blast furnaces to make steel. That's why Labour is investing over £500m in Port Talbot and that protects 5000 jobs plus 🤔

Firstly, the demand for refined oil products is dropping. But across Europe smaller, older refineries are closing. Grangemouth was always going to struggle having just over half the capacity of Farley (Southampton) and even Farley is now very small by international standards 🤔
