Mingus Reedus sounds like a Star Wars character

Mingus is an ok name. Sounds perfectly legit to my European ears.

I missed the point completely. I thought the name was an homage to Charlie Mingus, a bit of a musical hero of mine. Just shows that jazz fans inhabit a different planet.

Is that pronounced Min-gus or Ming-us?

The more archaic form of the Scottish name is “Menzies”, I shit you not. Thoughts and prayers for those lads.

See, I could be onboard with Menzies, I've also heard it as diminutive for Magnus. Whatever it is, it still reads as 'minger' to me and that's just cruel.
