It's bizarre how ending "DEI" so quickly morphed into opposing anti-discrimination ordinances, except that if you listen to the rhetoric of those pushing it, it's really not surprising at all. What's truly shocking is how many accepted the phony pretense.

If you tell me DEI programs aren't effective, ur not the 1st to say so and I'm happy to hear your alternative. But if you add, "and therefore we should legalize discrimination and erase history of marginalized cultures," which is how the policy IMMEDIATELY turned as soon as implemented, no thanks.
Excuse me for thinking that one's skill and merit should be the only qualifications. Wait until you learn that you got your dream job as a DEI hire, to fill a quota. That happened to me. All it did was make the feeling of inadequacy worse.

In any event, as I said above, legacy admission at Harvard are responsible for FAR more seats taken from high performing kids than DEI programs, and pretending otherwise is either misinformed or disingenuous.

Just because legacy admissions are an issue doesn't make the story I mentioned any less valid. FFS you sound as dumb as the people that defend males in female sports by claiming "it's only a few athletes".
The reality is that DEI devolved into diversity = everything but Anglo Saxon, job requirements/skill set became secondary. No, stating a fact isn't racist, before you even attempt to go down that road.
