Try telling them you are deathly allergic to Benadryl. The astonished looks are the best. 😂😂😂

Interestingly when my skin along my veins started turning red from IV Benadryl one time half the nurses at the infusion centre started freaking out that I had an allergy ! But I knew for a fact I never have before & that I’m very sensitive to the irritation it causes in IV form & the other half said

it was just that ! So I couldn’t really get a straight answer the whole four hours but I was completely fine so it’s not listed as an allergy but is down in my head as a strange nurse scaring anomaly

You are not missing much with Benadryl I like to call it an “evil high” because it’s like the opposite of a panic rescue medication but it still makes you drowsy it’s just a lot eviler about it

same - but I still make jokes about it for the 'normal' folks

I liked the “let’s take ibuprofen together” meme from a while back so I still say it & sometimes my family responds with “please don’t”

haha - I like that one too. Someone posted 'I ibprofened too close to the sun and got gastritis' and I love that one to death because that's what happened to me
