I didn't even know it was possible to be bitten on palms and soles, honestly dont' think that's ever happened to me. But sounds flipping awful, really sorry Hass.

they go where the DEET is not or just hammer through it. seems my blood irresistible for the little swine. have generally been bitten infinitely less since I stopped boozing but this holiday has been a holocaust for my poor ankles.

Bites on the bony bits are the actual worst. Are you okay with ibuprofen? What you're describing sounds like you could do with some anti-inflammatory/pain relief.

taking daily naproxen - powerful anti-inflamm - and occasional codeine for my shoulder. also antihistamine cream and tablets. the full court press.

Apparently folic acid good to repel mozzies (but apparently you need quite a high dose). My MIL was taking it for something and now doesn’t get bitten.
