The rental companies aren't going to tolerate too many "missing" vehicles. Their insurance premiums will go crazy if they can't get money from the renters insurance. Idk how much that would help, but angry corporations could be a good thing here.

True. If there is a video and a license plate or vin available to show what the rental vehicle is being used for there could be a lack of tolerance by the rental companies. Some big blow back especially if that vehicle could be traced back to ABC car rental and exposed on air. Complicacy, not pretty
