I’ve been saying it and I’ll keep saying it but a lot of “AI” products seem designed to appeal to the most gullible, most vulnerable, most ignorant and ill-informed around us… almost like… a scam…

@grok Is this true?
Yeah, crypto, blockchain, NFTs, metaverse and now AI. Just another part in the tech bro grifts.
In other news I got a bunch of classes with my friends this year
MAGA
I loathe AI. As someone that gets most of my pleasure from the arts, seeing that fraudulent garbage being produced by it, sickens me.
Billionaires have to keep pushing it into people's lives because if it fails, it might make them millionaires again and that would be so terrible.
AI would be great if it was used strictly for the sciences and not for public consumption.
Just asked Grok, he disagrees with you 🤣
Is it like other tech bubbles though like the dot-com era? It is definitely more insidious and pervasive since the Internet exists full swing right now but I wonder if the situation with 'AI' is more unique because of the product or because of the delivery method for product and marketing
Did you know? AI images are disproportionately influenced by the creepy artwork of Thomas kincaid, because there's so much of it. If you look for it you'll start to notice the similarities
It’s the BoredApes craze with the resources of a million suns.
But, Sam Altman seems so smart. He even does the mumbling-pausing thing that only geniuses do because they are too flustered about how best to communicate to us dum-dums without making our heads explode with their obvious intellectual superiority. No way it's a grift or anything.
It's more like a nicely wrapped toffee, justifying the price while preying on people's desperation, like AI companions targeting loneliness.
It's a perfect product for the lonely and unwell, but all it does is encouragee and escalate some our worst impulses. I'm very sympathetic to the appeal it pretends to offer, but...oof.
almost?!?
So, Republicans. Yeah, we all kind of figured that part out.
Since the rate of suckers being born isn't increasing, they're trying to catch more in other ways.
Of course ,the degenerates love to think they're smarter than everyone else.
Everyone wants to take advantage of those dumb Trump voters.
So, laser focused on corporate executives then
but business people use it so it must be good :(
AI is just another algorithm. And we know how well that's doing.
So, the C suite.
Something I mumbled a while back bsky.app/profile/oddb...
Paraphrasing… but if AI could actually make you a great writer, or make you a big-shot movie producer, or create a fortune 500 company for you… they wouldn’t be selling it you as a subscription service. They’d keep it for themselves.
