Usually those bonuses come with strings attached so if you get fired you need to pay back some prorated amount if it's been less than a year, just an FYI if you happen to get paid one of these.

Yes, I'd be very careful about taking the bonus! But you could definitely put the money in a high interest savings account and keep or donate the interest. And even the process of clawing the bonus back would be work that slows down the govt
