Hi! Can anyone recommend something good to watch, please. I've run out of shows. Thanks!
Hi! Can anyone recommend something good to watch, please. I've run out of shows. Thanks!
1. Nordic Murders German/Polish-subtitles 2. Astrid-French- subtitles 3. Candice Renoir French-subtitles 4. Professor T Dutch-subtitles. Not the Ben Miller one in English. The one with Koen De Bouw 5. Annika They are either on PBS, Brit box or prime.
Thanks!
+1 on Astrid.
Came to the comments to say this!
Reservation Dogs
Yellowjackets? Finished season one so far
Peaky Blinders. Silo. Ghosts (UK) it's light and cute.
Clarkson's Farm
The Diplomat. Queen of the South. Just started watching The Residence, entertaining so far.
The Pitt, best show on tv now
No HBO. Maybe I can sway my roommate into getting it.
Season 3 of Dark Winds has started.
But only on AMC 😢
I only use ROKU so I'm impatiently waiting for it to hit Netflix
It's not on Canadian Netflix. After you tricked me into watching season 1, I had to get a subscription for AMC. 🤨
Adolescence - Netflix (great drama surrounding a young boy accused of murder); every episode is filmed in one long take in real time. Severance - Apple TV+
Yellowjackets is a good distraction from real life.
Is that good. I saw survivor film and was leery..
It's way more than that with a stellar cast. Really good.
The Wheel of Time is fantastic
loved "Blame!" on Netflix
Abbott Elementary is fun
I heard it's good. On the list!
Rewatched firefly and Buffy. Still love both despite the troubling behavior on set.
Any British mystery or drama on PBS Masterpiece.
As a donor to my PBS affiliate I get access to Passport, which is just a whole other streaming service, where you can watch most of those from the start. Recommended: Unforgotten, Endeavour (well-received prequel to 'Inspector Morse'), Van Der Valk (a really good retread of an older series).
Residence on Netflix.
Paradise on Hulu
Waiting for the next season. Love it.
The Wheel of Time series on Prime is very good. Not my usual genre. Based on great juvenile fiction fantasy series by late Robert Jordan. The series is done for adult audiences. Also listening to Rosamund Puke read them on audible. She is awesome.
The Wheel of Time series was never considered Juvenile fantasy fiction, though it did appeal to many ages. In fact they even released at least the first book in a 2 book YA version. Rosamund Pike's Audio versions are wonderful! #TheWheelOfTime #WotSkies
Ok. Thanks. The books are a bit more PG than the Prime adaption.
Yes, and books (all media) in general have gotten less PG over time.
The Odessey
Silo, Severance on Apple
I second both of these.
Residence, High Tides, and Medusa. All on Netflix. Disney: Paradise, Daredevil, Abbott Elementary
The Pitt on Max is excellent! Highly recommend! Paradise on Hulu was very good, too.
Residence
"Adolescence" on Netflix. Outstanding 4 part series.
Battlestar Galactica -took me over a decade to eventually watch it (kinda dark). the back story is relevant to today - humans create A.I. , AI eventually takes over and tries to extinguish humanity - rince, repeat, for something like 4000yrs to 2000 to Earths rise.
There's something call 'The Shit Show" that broadcasts live, on all C-Span channels.. (really depressing though)
HAHAHAHAHA I laughed
I cried
I laughed at the way you wrote it.
Find it on IPLAYER "One Fine Morning" a one-off film that is very gentle in French with subtitles.
Thanks!
Hacks on HBO
Catastrophe is so funny. I’m watching White Lotus. Patriot is my favorite (not like the name sounds-very subtle humor great acting)
The residence on Netflix
Seconded! Uzo Aduba is amazing in this.
Got great reviews. Thanks
The Pitt on Paramount Plus.
Sorry it is on MAX
netflix has "Under the Queens Umbrella" 2022 South Korean television costume /period 16 episodes really good
I recently enjoyed: Dark Winds - 2 season on Netflix Missing You - limited series on Netflix Into the Fire - The lost daughter on Netflix A bit intense and emotional The Pitt - HBO Max
If you don't mind subtitles, try La Otra Mirada (The Boarding School). From Spain. If you support PBS, it's one of the Walter Presents tv series. I loved on both the intellectual & emotional levels. About women's rights. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgKC...
Not at all. I preferred Like Water For Chocolate in Spanish. Sometimes the bad dubbing ruins it. Thanks!
Have you watched The Pitt? Awesome!!
Have you watched Succession?
Isn't that just on HBO? I'd love to watch it.
It‘s good
I don’t have HBO but I watched. Fantastic.
We are watching Yellowstone right now and it feels like the western version of it. Wouldn’t want to be there for Shiv and Beth Dutton on two sides of a problem 😂
My latest was From on MGM+.
Oh I am in withdrawal over From. New season isn't coming out under late next year 😭
I had to stop watching it. Too grim.
Right up my alley
Damn...that's way too long. Oh well...
The Gentlemen Night Agent
Alma Isn’t Normal is excellent (it’s a very British sitcom) poignant as well as very funny. Succession was great as well.
The Residence on Netflix. Shonda just can’t create a bad series. 😄
She's incredible!
Yellowjackets susan?
First season, maybe. I’m hate-watching at this point.
Phenomenal!
lol you too?! We were just saying that! Since we stopped corporate news, we need this too! Just saw Spy with Mellisa McCarthy! Fun watch! I’m waiting for the next season of: Wednesday and Resident Alien Whats on your list?
bsky.app/profile/fake...
Right?! Can’t wait for the new seasons! Way to go 💪🏼 Love the sign!
I’ve been binge watching blacklist, older show but awesome
West wing
Fore !!!
The Residence
Lioness, Reacher, Dark Winds, Shetland
Night Agent, Tell Me Lies, The Diplomat, Day of the Jackal, Bad Sisters, Baby Reindeer, Mare of Easttown,
Tell Me Lies, that show kills me. But it is a guilty pleasure.
exactly.
Corner Gas
if you haven’t seen and you’re into this sort of thing… boardwalk empire
Saw it! It was great!
i might just have to rewatch since i no longer watch the news!
What sort of things do you like? My most-watched series is "The Expanse" - best SF series ever, and if you think Star Wars is SF, you'll be blown away - though seasons 1-3 are no longer on Prime. "The Last of Us" is on Now - I've just ordered that on DVD. I quite like Jacks Ryan and Reacher...
I second the Expanse… a little cheesy on the dialogue sometimes, but the effects and actual science of the show are astonishing. I still get chills thinking about the railguns when they fire up.
We probably have similar taste
Reacher definitely
Naked attraction on Crave. Laughs galore.
Goliath.
I liked that.
Random genres 🤗 Set in England: Peaky Blinders A Thousand Blows (its new) Historical: The Americans Versailles Turn Biker shows: Sons of Anarchy Mayans
Black Mirror is coming soon
I’m so excited!
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Sweet Tooth? That was so good if you like that stuff
I loved it didn’t think I would.
Watched "Cargo" last night. Horror / Drama Surprisingly good.
Hi! What's it on?
I know it won a lot of award but did anyone see Anora?
What is it?
Dark Winds, Will Trent, Partners in Crime on Acorn.
The whole family watched the first 20-30 minutes, all of which was entirely soft porn. We switched to something else.
I, too, loved it!
Loved it
Landmark, Reacher, White Lotus, Irrational, Tracker are our go to shows.
I watch all of them except the one on HBO. I like your taste. lol
Yes and it is good.
I started watching Will Trent on a few suggestions. I only watched the the first and second show but why do all the cops look like idiots other than Will?
Paradise. Incredibly good, amazingly relevant. On Hulu.
I don't care for Will Trent, I watched the 1st season...meh
Same. I like his character but the rest can't keep up.
Is all about Betty for me.
YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD I kept saying, that's my next dog.
Cousin, I typed in a reply that was ... I wanna say "sarcastic".. rude, thought better of it. I know the ratio can't be as humorous as I joked. 👹✊
Everyone loves it. I just can't see why they make the cops look so inept. Also (sadly and it's my issue) Erica Christenson is a Scientologist and I'm not a fan of theirs
I'm flipping through the channels, now to locate the various show suggestions and see like gazillion ones playing at the same time that are all written by Harlan Cobel. Where the hell did he come from, or have I been living under a rock
You've been living under a rock...he's written more than a dozen Bestsellers. #HarlanCoben.
His mini series are really good!
Everything by Harlan Coben is terrible 🤮
😂not a rock but he’s earned the accolades 😊
OMG. I just told someone that this morning. First time ever. Although I am retired & only work PT & HGTV took off my favorite shows. House Hunters.
Harlan Coben is a great author, but the series and movies are usually just ok. I've still watched them all though.
Im obsessed with all his Netflix shows. He's a fairly prominent writer👍
Don't make the mistake of watching Prime Target OMG was that baaaaaad
Poor Martha Plimpton. She's the only one who can act
Stephen Rea is good, too but this role is beneath him.
I have found that most of primes shows and movies suck.
This isn't from Prime. It's on Netflix
Good omens. Absolutely delightful www.google.com/search?q=goo...
Thanks!
Adolescence.
By any chance, did you happen to catch this? www.yahoo.com/entertainmen...
LOVED IT. One of my favorites
1883
The Wire is old but really well done. I rewatch it every few years.
The Pitt, and The Tourist. Both are excellent
The Pitt HBO Max
Long Bright River on Peacock. I am a Survivor and Amazing Race fan. Paramount has the Survivor episodes. Not sure about Amazing Race.
This is a feel-good series, the plot holds your attention, and the interactions are delightful. A Man on the Inside g.co/kgs/62rP6g7
Anything on Acorn.
West wing on hbo max …how a president should act even when he does wrong
Have you seen “In From The Cold” 👍
High Potential and Tracker. I love both.
I watch Tracker and Reacher.
I watch both of them.
Both are excellent
I just did a re-watch of Giant. Liz Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. I was so glad I did.
Pit?
Barney Miller. I think it is on tubi. Always made me laugh.
1923
My favs… Dramas: Goliath Bosch Dexter Landman Bloodline Ozark Line of Duty Two of Us The Pitt Comedies/RomComs/Coming of Age: Dead to Me Emily in Paris Never Have I Ever Ginny & Georgia Reality: RuPaul Drag Race Love is Blind (all countries)
I don't know what type of programs you have an interest in, but I am a fan of murder mysteries, I watch Bosch, Lincoln Lawyer, Elsbeth but when I've exhausted all the episodes of the programs I normally watch I turn to Midsomer Murders which now has 22 seasons available on many streaming channels.
I like Bosch, Lincoln lost me at season 2 but Midsomar is new to me
The Pitt on max
Best show ever!
Isn’t it?So intense but also very realistic I was an intern many years ago and know how they feel Also could never be an ER physician I admire them It’s such a hard job!
I’ve spent a lot of time in an ER, but never worked in a trauma center; very appreciative of those who do.
I hope it comes to one of my channels
No Max (sad face)
www.paramountplus.com/shows/the-ag...
I don't have Paramount (sad face) but thanks
Poker Face on peacock. Season 2 drops 5/8.
Leverage & Leverage Redemption.
I don't know if you have already seen them, but two of the best series we've seen lately were Ted Lasso and Ozark. I've also been watching Tacoma FD for some light relief, it's kind of got Brooklyn 99 vibes.
Saw both ✌️
We have been enjoying Paradise on Hulu.
Waiting impatiently for season 2.
The are murders Long bright river 1923 Adolecence
Anything on PBS, All Creatures Great and Small, Miss Scarlet, just go down the menu and there is almost always something binge worthy.
Slow Horses.
The Diplomat on Netflix, Paradise on Hulu...
“Vera” on Britbox. It has 14 seasons (4 episodes each) and each episode stands alone so you don’t need to binge a season to find out who did it.
I'm half through 'The Residence' on Netflix, it's a hoot! I did not care for 'Adolescence' at all. I previewed The Life List movie for Netflix, the beginning is dumb but the story is sweet, it starts Friday.
Couples therapy, with Dr Orna Guralnik
When ever I run out of things to watch, I always find myself rewatching Life on Mars and still find it as brilliant and intriguing as the day it aired
Thanks. I usually head to Columbo ha
Try Swedish Dicks it’s Colombo ish
Will do 👍🏻
BBC cozy murder mysteries
oooh - not so cozy, but Wire in the Blood!!
What's that on?
"Deadloch" on Prime. Hardest we've laughed in years.
Plus, if u want 2 laugh:Absolutely Fabulous, Little Britain, That Mitchell & Webb Look, Peep Show(same writer as Succession),Upstart Crow,The IT Crowd,Miranda,Vicar of Dibley, & Monty Python and Fleabag
The Wire, We Own This Town, Generation Kill, The Plot against America, anything by @audacityofdespair.bsky.social
Endeavour. Great British detective series set in the 1960s, early 1970s.
Where's that playing?
Probably Brit Box or PBS or if you can stream ITV3 channel.
Paradise on Hulu or Foyle’s War on PBS.
Love Paradise!
If you like fantasy adventure.. check out THE OUTPOST.. it's on the Tubi app.. It's a cool mini series, also check out Alcatraz. Good mini series both on tubi
Thanks!
Adolescents on Netflix hard but good
Each episode done one take in real time. Adds to uncomfortable suspense. The acting is superb esp father, boy and psychologist
One of my favorites. A big plus is that it drove MAGA nuts to be called out www.yahoo.com/entertainmen...
Very good, especially the final episode. Would've like to see an additional episode detailing the social media algorithms, likes, online bullying/PMs/DMs etc., impact.
Agree
Mad men
Will Trent. ♥️♥️♥️ ghosts (there’s a UK and a US version of ghosts. I prefer the US show)
I just finished The Residence & Running Point on Netflix and recommend both. Highly recommend Pachinko on AppleTv+.
Death in Paradise Even though each episode is a stand alone show, it’s good to start with the first one.
American Primeval on Netflix.
It's old now but The West Wing was epic. I watch the whole series at least once a year. I could recite it by heart :)
What channel?
Netflix Hulu Apple
Hey Elsabeth, in Ireland it's on the RTEplayer or More4player or Netflix also. I don't know about the US platforms I'm afraid. Peace✌️
Yours, Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda. The Quiet Man with John Wayne. I just can't watch most of the stuff on TV any more.
I'm watching old movies, The Sand Pebbles, with Steve McQueen and Candice Bergman. It's a great movie set in 1926 China in the middle of Chiang Kai-shek and the rise of Communism. The US has a gunboat trying to rescue missionaries who don't want to be rescued.
I’d suggest High Potential.
High Potential is great
Kevin Can F**k Himself- I think on Netflix. And yes to Yellow Jackets!
Line of Duty BritBox Adolescence Netflix The Residence Netflix Bridgerton Netflix
Nothing really pulls me in anymore. The Younger version of Dexter on Showtime is not bad though.
Zero Day with Robert De Niro. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
Saw it! Thanks!
Bridgerton … all seasons and Queen Charlotte Handmaids Tale ( last season in 2 weeks) Emily in Paris The Marvelous Mrs Maisel Schitts Creek
You can never go wrong with Schitts Creek. I've tried to watch Mrs. Maisel several times, and it's just not grabbing me.
It is based on the life of Joan Rivers. I feel that way about Outlander. I just couldn’t continue after 3 seasons.
I didn't know that about Joan Rivers. I agree about Outlander. Started out strong but I also lost interest.
Righteous Gemstones
THE funniest show. 💎
Where is that playing?
HBO/Max
Belly laughs with that show!
I’ve almost peed my pants numerous times. It’s too much and I love it!
Fan of True Crime?
Big!
Have you seen "The Karen Read Case " on MAX? There is something twisted going on there...
Shetland on Brit Box/Prime
Falling Skies, an old series with 5 seasons. Starring Noah Wyle. Ted Lasso. The Last of Us. The Pitt.
The Silo. The Last of Us. Fallout.
The new Matlock, The equalizer with Queen Latifah, Tracker. I’ve been watching old episodes of 911.
The residence. Total fun
Paradise
I loved Fringe! It was on for 5 seasons, so a nice length to binge, if you can get it. I just started watching Evil. So far I'm liking it. And along those lines I thought most of Lucifer was good.
Luckier...loved it. Fringe....loved it.The TV show, Evil, is good. Hope you enjoy it.
Surface on Apple
It's good?! I missed that
Depends on what you like but I thought it was very good. Also, Paradise on Hulu if you haven't seen it - the best!
Love it! I downloaded the soundtrack
White Lotus-think HBO max Apple Cider Vinegar-Netflix
No HBO but Cider I'll look at. Thanks!
I am watching "Graveyard" on Netflix and enjoying it.
March madness!
The Pitt on HBOMax
No Max
Peaky Blinders, Line of Duty, Unforgotten, Broadchurch, Last Tango in Halifax, Happy Valley and Call the Midwife. All British like me.
Ditto on Last Tango in Halifax.
I've been rewatching Leverage and it's been helping with my mood. I don't do grimdark, but love Will Trent, Matlock (with Kathy Bates) The Irrational, Dark Winds, Resident Alien, My Life is Murder, 9-1-1, The Way Home, Harry Wild, Annika, Reservation Dogs & Wellington Paranormal.

Cool, thanks. I usually go to Tubi for Columbo
I was so excited when they added EIGHT IS ENOUGH! Fun Fact: @markhamillofficial.bsky.social played the oldest son in the pilot but had to drop out because of some dumb movie no one’s ever heard of 😉
HAHA the little film..
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Mark Hamill was on General Hospital too.
I think you’ll like The Residence
OMG soap!!!
Chester Plate. I remember it well 😆
Shrinking (Apple) The Residence (Netflix) Nobody Wants This (Netflix) The Char (Netflix) Laugh In (Tubi FREE!) If you’ve seen all those go back and rewatch ER on Max and Law & Order on Hulu
LOVE Nobody Wants This. Thanks for the others.
I enjoyed The Residence by Shondaland. I expect we may see more from Detective Cordelia.
There's a short horror film called The Chair, as well that I've seen.
Nope. Is it good?
great
Yes
Really good!
yes it is! The star is Andie McDowell's real life daughter (and they play mother & daughter in the series!)
So good. I've watched it twice.
MAID was excellent
The Pitt (max), White Lotus (Max), No one wants this (Netflix)
What stream apps do you use?
Hulu Netflix Apple Dicovery + The rest of the free ones ✌️
Dark Winds. Really good.
SO hooked on that show. I'm waiting for it to come to Netflix from AMC. LOVE IT
I get it off YouTubeTV
Reacher is on Prime & in it's 3rd season, I love it! I just watched a movie on Netflix called Sicario & it's awesome. I'm also watching Adolescence on Netflix and that is good. I just finished The night agent & that's on Netflix. Also The Diplomat is excellent as is The Lincoln Lawyer, & zero day
Shonda Rhimes' The Residence on Netflix. Elsbeth, Matlock, on Paramount Plus.
Just binged-watched "The Residence" on Netflix-very good!
I loved Deli boys. My escapist self also recommends Last Alaskans and Northwoods survival.
If you are on Prime, try Hustle. Very entertaining show about con artists in London. 8.2 on IMDb
Schitt's Creek Hoarders Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives America's Most Haunted Places (all streamable on Disney+)
Thanks Chad
The Harlan Coben collection of mini series are really good on Netflix.
The Residence. Quirky suspects with a fantastic female Columbo sorta style detective lead
I LOVED IT! Watched it twice already. Still didn't end up with the right person at the end.
NO SPOILERS😉
Didn't tell. I promise.
I'm watching that right now. Very clever and fun.
Aspects of this series remind me of Knives Out. So entertaining!
All the Light We Cannot See Black Dove The Looming Tower ... Are three series we have on the go right now. All very good.
Last night I watched Back To The Future starring Michael J Fox. On a giant screen. At LINCOLN CENTER in NYC. With the entire freaking NY PHILARMONIC ORCHESTRA playing the soundtrack in real time. It was AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!!!!
How cool is that!
