In America, white supremacy is far, far, *far* stronger than class solidarity.

It's a damning indictment of Bernie's political instincts that he kept insisting the opposite was true.
I've always had the distinct impression that Bernie kept up with that insistence b/c the inherent racism of the white working class was something that a.) debunked his worldview and b.) he just plain didn't want to talk about.
C. He is racist.🤷🏿♀️
This one. The others mentioned come from that one truth.
I’d argue that after race, gender still surpasses economic class.
Without question. It's the only thing that could possibly be as pervasive.
We did elect the worst possible man over the most qualified available woman, twice now.
It's like not even close. The two tendencies (or whatever you'd call them) aren't even playing in the same league. "Class solidarity" BARELY exists here and where it does it has to be careful maintained by labor organizers. Whereas "race" stuff in America is so big no one even SEES it.
This guy saying "welp we need to dismantle Whiteness first" is like me saying "welp I gotta accumulate 10 million bucks or so before I can consider next steps". It's...unlikely.
The average leftist has probably never even been to a union meeting and met all the conservatives and moderates there.
Everything I've seen has forced me to the conclusion this is true. I wish it wasn't but it is.
Folks really don't want to hear that fighting classism doesn't necessarily solve racism
The reason we dismantled what welfare state we had was because the *working class* voted to destroy it rather than suffer the indignity of having to share it on an equal basis with Black people!
You mean WHITE working class.
