Here's an example of idiocy. In 2019, due to a record harvest, sugar in Russia was very cheap, which led to a decrease in sugar beet crops. In 2020, the price rose due to a smaller harvest, and Putin ordered a price freeze. Look at the result. They had to subsidize producers youtu.be/uHLPckqqZPI
