As if they matter.
As if they matter.
The body of the article says the drop was 465,000. Headline editor was hitting the vodka?
Or were they saying the drop over the 6 months BEFORE January was 465,000? I agree that it’s confusing
Ahhh... maybe it is more definite in Russian?
So, a decline of ~600,000 voters over 12 months?
History changes so fast now in russia you can watch it happen paragraph by paragraph.
It’s astonishing they report a decline at all. I guess that central election commission should avoid windows.
Don't worry, the number of voters for Putin will not decrease but increase. Ruzzian elections magic 🪄
I'm sure they'll still find as many votes though.
Do you remember the video of the woman crawling in to stuff ballot boxes?
The shocking fact there is that they bother to count before announcing.
I do. She was identified. She's a music teacher from St. Petersburg.
Authorities are happy, 125 thousand voters less to manipulate…
Wasn't it Moscow itself which admitted one year ago that by 2030, they had to compensate for the fact that at least half a million Russian workers wouldn't be replaced once they retired? Oh, well, anyway...
I wasn’t aware that there were that many tall buildings with fragile glass windows on the top floor in Russia….
And it’s not just those that died in Ukraine!
No panic!
Do convicts have right to vote in Russia i.e. are they calculated as voters?
There is a ban on voting in elections, "imposed automatically on all convicted offenders deprived of their liberty in a detention facility, as provided for by the Russian Constitution". The few convicts sentenced to community service can vote under a law passed in 2017. www.coe.int/en/web/execu...
And this, weirdly enough, can be used to help provide a better demographic picture of russia, which means it will probably be classified info soon enough.
They will stop publishing these numbers as soon as they realize they contain anything useful and someone is analyzing them.
Anyway, the ones dead in Ukraine are mostly gone missing not to pay the family. And missing people are still able to vote. (or not)
-465,000 in the 6 months to Jan and -125,000 in the 6 months since, so -590,000 in a year. So the catastrophic collapse slowed down this year, right? Well, it looks consistent with Rosstat's -596,000 population in 2024, but demographics are a Putin objective so the real numbers are probably worse.
Oh tgey have the same problem In Russia with maths ! The most basic element we have
Okay so hold up. 1.7 mil Russians abroad thst can vote. 114 mil inside that can. Against a population of...145 mil? And...less than half a mil in prison and you have to be 18 or older. So...31 mil less disqualified. That would be the remaining pop under 18?
...that would put their percentage population under 18 at less than 20% right?
Yep. Hence Putin's recreation of Hitler's Lebensborn Program.
Voters? What for? They meant cannon fodder.
Consider the obligatory rose tinted glasses. The decrease is probably 10 times as much & the real voting population level (we might know after the collapse) turns out to be well below 100 million. I've seen some projections at 90 million. This is some form of messaging about the impact of the war
No worries. All dead conscripts and contracts will naturally vote for Comrade Putin. Especially if they expect to keep receiving their salaries.
You need to factor in the people reaching voting age...and the people dieing of age. No wonder russia classified both.
