There is a ban on voting in elections, "imposed automatically on all convicted offenders deprived of their liberty in a detention facility, as provided for by the Russian Constitution". The few convicts sentenced to community service can vote under a law passed in 2017. www.coe.int/en/web/execu...

-465,000 in the 6 months to Jan and -125,000 in the 6 months since, so -590,000 in a year. So the catastrophic collapse slowed down this year, right? Well, it looks consistent with Rosstat's -596,000 population in 2024, but demographics are a Putin objective so the real numbers are probably worse.

Okay so hold up. 1.7 mil Russians abroad thst can vote. 114 mil inside that can. Against a population of...145 mil? And...less than half a mil in prison and you have to be 18 or older. So...31 mil less disqualified. That would be the remaining pop under 18?

Consider the obligatory rose tinted glasses. The decrease is probably 10 times as much & the real voting population level (we might know after the collapse) turns out to be well below 100 million. I've seen some projections at 90 million. This is some form of messaging about the impact of the war
