This survey seems designed to provide the Trump admin with the justification for killing the program. They will be able to say “people don’t want this” when they are actually saying “I do t want to pay more for it”.

For what it’s worth, I’d gladly pay $20 to get that tax filling monkey off my back. Also, I’m guessing that if you are a special case like a freelancer or someone who makes lots of deductions you probably wouldn’t want to use the automated filing system.

I live outside the U.S. so even with this system in place I would probably still have to file myself.
