The post highlighted what a well written piece it was. I cannot fault the writer's phrasing, and perhaps intuitively, the writing style creates the rhythm. I like your approach, for rhythm creates an ease of reading, of understanding. Conversely, we've all read pieces that can't get to the point.
I love grammar, but “don’t end with a preposition” and “don’t split infinitives” have always been fake rules. I finally let go of the former once I realized no one cared and it did nothing to help my students express themselves more clearly.
It was an amazing piece. The only thing that stopped me from laughing out loud multiple times was the horror of these clowns being in charge.
