download and install qbittorrent (best torrent client i've personally found, doesn't have shitty ads that ruined many a client back in the day), then go to thepiratebay.org/index.html for most tv/movies, search what you want. If it's just an episode, try "show name s01e01" with s01 meaning season 1
Use a VPN with this or you'll get some threatening letters from your ISP
e01 meaning episode 1, obviously. try "show name complete" for complete series' You'll get a bunch of results that look like this, you want the highest number in the SE column, 0 means it won't download because nobody's sharing it but the torrent exists. You want to avoid filenames that contain
things like "HDRip" or "Telesync", you want to see BDRip or 1080p.HD somewhere in the filename at the very least, and you want to click on the magnet next to the one you want. Your browser should ask if you want to let qbittorrent deal with magnet links and you want to say yes.
At that point it should give you a menu that asks where you want to save it and it should start downloading.
Once it's downloaded you can move/rename the files but it's generally good form to leave it 'seeding' for a while (for other users) before doing that.

Honestly, the thing I hate most about prime is that when I try to log in to my Amazon account to subscribe--or do anything else--I just get an error about having requested too many one-time passwords even on the first attempt. I tried creating a new account, but the same thing happens.

This is the best advice here. Always use a VPN with this stuff. The VPN is also good if you're connecting to public wifi like in an airport.
