If everyone's idea of how to stop the authoritarianism is just Dems Will Do A Pedro Cerrano, & none of the GOP Congressional leaders or supposed "moderates" are ever going to face any public/media pressure to also do their jobs/side with Dems on democracy, then fine. But let's just be clear on that.

It seems clear that they simply do not believe in democracy. I don’t believe they are suffering some kind of temporary mass delusion. I think they’re getting a lot of what they desperately wanted - corporatism, white supremacy, deregulation, misogyny. If fascism gets them there, they’re down with it
