I'm sorry, no matter what personal or ideological gripe one has with universities or the academy, we didn't face the imminent destruction of entire parts of our institutions & the lives of dozens of students suddenly upended because of fascism before Trump. Just stop it with this unserious nonsense.
The problem is that the people that have an ideological gripe about universities, college students at Oberlin or selective colleges not admitting their kids have never been serious. They are just aggrieved customers who want someone to acknowledge their status as Delta-Club-Elite-Status members.
They are the same people who will lecture you, “Money doesn’t solve problems.” I don’t know about you, but money definitely solves my mortgage and grocery problems.
