One of the greatest authors of our time. Everyone should be reading his stories, especially the Sam Vimes series. A great analogy for the melting pot we are supposed to be.

Also Going Postal and Making Money. Making Money is an easy explanation as to how an economy should work. Money moving, not being hoarded by a few.

When I first read Going Postal as a teen, I didn't care much for it, but upon reading it again after a decade and change working in retail (especially at a store being eaten alive by private equity)? Oh man, it became one of my top favorite in the series.

As someone who was involved in the Internet in the early days, it was an instant favorite of mine. It is also a great story about grifters and how to spot them.

The more people with money to spend beyond living expenses, the more jobs get created to meet the demand, and THOSE people spend money creating more jobs, etc.

The money keeps moving. And the asset is the people themselves.
