It can be but having had a teaching position earlier in my career with no union, I am extremely glad to have one now. Ableism in education is so prevalent - districts talk about inclusion for students, but they honestly seem to not believe that disabled teachers/adults exist... #ParshaChat

We've only had a union the past couple years. *Needing* union backup feels right there like like danger. Also deeply concerned seeing how the federal government has been dismantling the unions. Wondering if they can do similar for other unions. subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene... #ParshaChat

I'm really glad your union is showing up for you in this matter. (And that's so true about ableism in education — and also nobody seems to think about disability accommodations for *parents*). #ParshaChat

Ditto for that one. (as a disabled parent of a disabled student, I know it can be exhausting) We need to be part of the planning to be included. #ParshaChat
