As an Autistic person I have a strong tendency to avoid crowds … turns out I should have travelled to D.C. this weekend.

I stayed home and watched Murderbot with my best friend. She's finding it relatable.
Turns out #MarthaWells is neurodivergent & believes she has either undiagnosed #Autism or #ADHD something she discovered while writing #Murderbot
That is my understanding. One of those Authors that it’s like “I am glad they know before thousands of Autistic people are like ‘does this Author know they are Autistic?’”
A conversation I've had with an author essentially boiled down to "Why did no one tell me?" I had to respond with "Because most people don't respond well, and tend to protest." And yeah, all of the author's friends knew before she did.
Le sigh. #Women & #girls are still under diagnosed when it comes to being neurodivergent.🙄
At our age (Author is close to my own age of 49) we wouldn't have been considered autistic when we were in school. The diagnostic criteria has changed sufficiently in the last 35 years or so that it is clear we ARE.
Good.😌
'Zackly.😌 Albeit #MarthaWells doesn't consider #Murderbot #Autistic because it's not human.🤔
(And that a very Autistic conflict to have … is my non-human Autistic-coded character Autistic?)
Heh!😁
