I could see people arguing that it’s borderline but the fact that the Curse is established to be broken by love and the curse *is* broken by love … makes Love a core element of this fantasy story and not a subplot within the fantasy story … imho.
I always saw it as a kind of fairytale, but you're absolutely not wrong here.
