Sheesh
Re-building takes time 🤣
I’m still hopeful for the future, but man, this is not fun.
I’ve been a Washington baseball fan since around 1957, so I’ve seen some bad, bad baseball. But I can’t watch this team.
All the criticism my Expos used to receive, and yet they only had two 100-loss seasons in 35 years of existence. The Nats will hit this mark 4x, and in 15 years less.
Players can stay, but everyone else, the manager, bench coaches, 1st and 3rd base coach, the hitting coaches, the equipment guys, the video guys, the analytics guys, etc, all have to go.
Imagine that, gutting a World Series team full of young stars in order to make a billionaire a few more dollars is a bad method for fielding a winning team.
Not defending the Lerner's in any way, but "team full of young stars" is a bit of a stretch. Rendon, Stras, Turner and Soto were it. And only the last two have done anything since 2019.
Building around Soto and Turner would be a helluva lot easier than starting from scratch for the sole purpose of dumping payroll.
I’m done. I have two more games this season and I’m not renewing my season tickets. I have hung on to this painful rebuild for the last six seasons. I’m out! Go Caps and Commanders!
