As to Harris, herself? The former prosecutor/top cop? She set her image up as "tough on crime". This kind of pandering is more common to conservatives. She supported using gov. force to deal with drug problems rather than other approaches. That's quite a conservative thing to do, overall.
She also took part in the big lie about sites like backpage, and helped to destroy it. It was part of bullshit conservative moralism, where the appearance is all that matters. Indeed, backpage wasn't helping human trafficking; it was helping feds catch it. That's a very conservative thing to do.
She also worked hard, as the top cop, to ignore sexual misconduct by cops. She also defended dirty prosecutors. This kind of corruption, where having power puts someone in a special, consequence free place, is a very conservative attitude toward power structures.
Oh, and she was also strongly against fracking bans. Big oil loyalty is a big conservative mainstay. She also talked a lot during the 2024 election cycle about how the Biden administration had ramped up domestic drilling. Again, conservative stuff, right there.
