Absolutely. Full trust in Emery, much less so in Monchi. I think our transfer business has been highly questionable since he came in, and paying this much for a 28yo in a position we don't really need when we're about to go into another season with one right back. FFS.

Is it the case that all we have to account for this season is the loan fee plus wages and the rest goes into next season and onwards? There has to be a reason the club thinks this is affordable now?

Yep + the final fee will be spread across the contract for accounting purposes Our issue isn’t affordability but that UEFA (as well as SCR) requires us to have a minimum trading balance of €0m {€5m this yr) so sales must equal or exceed buys Loan w/obligation means we can spend pure £s elsewhere
