I dunno. He’s definitely written like a show off. Walking on water, feeding the multitudes, water to wine, casting out demons. All of that is basically a sideshow act.

I can't believe the Prof. is going after Christians now....what is happening?
He isn’t. I am, always.
Disabusing people of the notion that Jesus was a socialist is gonna make a whole lot of people on the left pretty fuckin mad I'm betting.
My biggest problem with it is that it’s anachronistic. Modern politics really don’t apply. But he was the sort of guy, or so I’ve read, who would happily be dirt poor, and give all he has to the poor. I don’t know if you noticed, but Christians aren’t like that. Weird, really.
Jesus was a carpenter. Do you think he charged people for his work? or like most boss' sons, did he just sort of hang around in his dad's shop?
We don’t know if that’s true. That all comes down to how you want to translate the Greek word “tekton”.
Sorry, that was my poor attempt at a bit of dry humor.
Attention seeking, maybe?
Highly unlikely, I think Prof. Nichols has decided to go full Hitchens (in rhetoric not ideology of course). He seems hell bent lately on leaving no one, their totems. Which I kinda dig...
I don’t think it’s worth investing much thought into.
Where on earth did you get that? He openly and often mentions his faith.
I never meant to imply he was attacking Christianity. Merely the notion that many hold dear that if Jesus were alive today, he would be a socialist, etc. It's a pretty popular meme.
I think it’s fair to say he wouldn’t be MAGA.
Of this I have no doubt.
Yeah, what I have read shows a man that seemed to care about folks.
Not to mention flipping over tables and chasing money lenders out of the temple.
Total drama queen, really.
Resurrecting people.
Putting a bunch of demons into piggies, and making them .. I think he sends them off a cliff. My memory is fuzzy on that.
I do not remember that one.

Well, there you go. So bizarre.
Right?
