Thankfully, that’s not true. My wife and sister in law just sold her mother’s house. They had 9 offers. Not one had a higher down payment than 35k and most were around 15-20k

Where's is it & what was the sale price? Around here..small, trash houses go for upwards of $300,000 & to buy something that doesn't need a lot of repair...you better have abt $100,000 down. I live in a small town on the east coast. It cost us $67,000 to buy an old 900 sq ft cottage for $187,000.
Northern NJ. Lake community. Asked 300k. Got offers between 287 and 330. None put down more than 10%. Many 3.5% FHA
That's good news. Maybe things are leveling out. Here...there's almost nothing (literally) worth buying under $300,000. Most listings are still being bought by cash offers. I live in a rural area. The house next door 3 bed 1970's rancher.. sold for just under $500,000. Imagine being a 30yr old buyer
