In point of fact, the fascist insurrectionists radicalized those who support 2A to overthrow the democracy it was intended to protect. It's not only obsolete, it's become a national, strategic vulnerability. Mandatory public service would have prevented this.

Trump not only has his private militia comprised of Proud Boys, J-6ers, Oathkeeoers, Nazi sympathizers and Patriot Front thugs and hooligans (aka ICE) but now he has cravenly chosen to hijack our military - active duty, National Guard and Reserve, to intimidate, beat, arrest US, just as Hitler did.
