In Canada we don’t need to register. Early voting happens as well as mail in voting. Each time I’ve voted in the last 20+ years it has taken a maximum of 10 minutes and at most 5 minutes from home.

We do need to register, I helped my oldest kid do it 3 years ago. It literally took about 5 mins but you do need to register.

Very privileged. I think it says something strange when I can pay taxes online or register a vehicle but in Texas I cannot register to vote online even if I have a state license. Not designed to be accessible.

Set up registration tables at fairs and food co ops. Get some good balloons & a book to learn how to make a few balloon animals. Use a hand pump inflater. Best with 2 people. Stickers with "I Will Vote in 20xx" for kids and adults. Kids dates for when they turn 18. Put a baby donkey unicorn on it.

Lol are these real suggestions? How about, like everything else you just go online and register. Period! You turn 18 and you register to vote or better yet, as soon as you turn 18 you are automatically registered to vote.

Sure,I'll tell Greg Abbott to do that right now. I'm sure he will call a special session to get it done. I've seen the booths to register people w/ everyone just glancing at it & moving on. Politics is boring. Getting the 1/3 that haven't been voting is critical. The kids are key to > excitement.

And, yes, it is a real suggestion. People will stand in line for 30 mins to get their kid a free balloon animal. Believe me I know. That's why I suggested 2 people. One to blow up the balloon & one to make them.

And how is that going to get people to register to vote exactly?! 18 year olds don’t want a balloon lol…terrible suggestion honestly. This generation does everything online these days, that makes the most sense.

By getting engagement from people who don't vote. "These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons." The whole point of the post is that Texas does not have on line registration.

And most are older than 18.

It needs to be done at the federal level. All adults (citizen or legal migrant) have the right to vote. That’s the way it is in Canada…things are just better here.

That’s insane to me! Voting should always be encouraged. As soon as my oldest turned 18 we registered them and I make it point for us both to vote in every election, it’s not only a privilege but also our civic duty as well!
