so is newgrounds taking a gamble? again, I'm ***really*** not trying to argue, but why is it that some are willing to do what's right? why aren't they willing to put a little "skin in the game?" this isn't just some possibly ignorant hypothetical b/c newgrounds SEEMS to have done it successfully.

if I'm wrong I'll hold that. all I know is what I see, and I'm only seeing some pushback from businesses, sites, people, leaders, etc that are in more vulnerable positions, while the ones who do have the resources to fight are choosing not to, even when it's not legally required to obey this stuff.

It's not about doing what's right, it's that the actual law is *hundreds* of pages long. If you get it wrong, the heat on you from Ofcom will be pretty rough. Most are choosing to err on the side of caution with their approach, because they don't want to risk the potentially massive fines.

I understand caution, especially when you have employees that you want to make sure can stay employed, but at least show some fight. like if newgrounds is wrong, make these people prove that they're wrong in court. the fact that they're going through such convoluted back channels shows it's bs imo.

I have no reason to be hostile to stuff that I *want* to survive this. I just don't want to see the people who are usually offered up for that survival to be sacrificed again.
