Use european manufacturers only...!
Hasn't the EJ200 from Eurofighter just slighty less thrust??? What's about Rafale?
Like the way u think EU needs to decouple fast from US too unreliable
Yes! And i think Europe could do it. The european arms industry is actually quite competitive in quality in a lot of areas, just not able to produce in big numbers. Europe needs to work on rocket artillery, long range ballistic and longe range cruise missles....
Europe and UK needs to scale up fast 💨 Sorry Starmer 2.5% ain't enuff in the near future
No more trust in the US!!!
EJ200 and Snecma M-88 have multiple variants, including some proposals for increased thrust and even thrust-vectoring. The specific thrust available depends on the varient selected and the characterisics of the aircraft (intakes etc can affect net thrust)
So it would theoretically be possible to use european engines for Gripen... ?! That would be a smart move. Orherwise the US is controlling all sales on Gripen.
It's not just the engine: any system with so much as a US manufactured fuse comes under the same ITAR regime. Europe needs to make products that have no US components at all, nor software. Compatibility - yes, not an issue, but not beholden to the US. Biden feared escalation; Trump exploits the rule
👏👏👏
There were studies for using EJ200 and Snecma M-88 variants as potential alternatives - I cannot locate the sources, but at least one of them involved a slight lengthening of the fuselage. The diameter of the engine and accessories is similar. US playing nasty. That could backfire spectacularly.
I hope it will backfire big time... I think it could also make countries think twice about acquisition of F-35...
F35 though highly capable is not great bank for buck buy European or build the planes ✈️ in EU
Surprise?
This one was false info.
The US is now going to be called Thugistan.
