I need someone well versed in air defence systems to tell me why all these drones can fly thousands of kilometers over Russia and not get shot down and the fighter/bomber aircraft of the UA are terrified to fly there. We watch π·πΊ AA systems get blown up all the time, but I guess they have 1ks more?
Aircraft are more radar visible than drones. In fact small drones can effectively be radar invisible and detection can only be people on ground seeing/hearing and reporting. Flying "under the radar" is difficult at speed even with terrain follow radar and makes you more vulnerable to ground fire.
Yes, but we see Ruzzian air defence systems getting blown up at least once a week. Will they ever run out of them? Are we being lied to? When the US invades a country they destroy all the AD first and then have air superiority. I'm guessing that Ruzzia has more AD than they do tanks.
AD is a serious national security issue. States never talk about their AD assets. Ever. Be it total capability or quantity. The US can deploy multiple solutions to AD neutralise requirements, their "anti-AD" capability is way beyond anyone else.
