Why the courts don’t seem able to slow down the Musk destruction?
I'd like to hear more about the pendulum swing of democracy and how it stopped nazis from taking over Germany. Oh wait... did that not happen? Then I guess I'd like to know why the Hell you think these fascists who have yet to obey a court order will stop? What's it look like in 2 or 4 years? Bad.
Why do we call it the unitary executive theory when it's only the republican unitary executive theory? #askpreet
I’d like to know about the Executive Authority position that Trump is taking. Do we need a constitutional amendment to clean up the language regarding Presidential authority?
How would Trump go about trying to annex Canada?
Why government agencies don't deny entry of DOGE teams when they arrive at their locations? Can US Marshalls force them to be admitted?
What is a “Domestic Enemy”? How is one declared a Domestic Enemy? What happens next?
As Trump is using DOJ and the courts to try to turn around decisions he doesn't agree with (just as he did in his businesses and private life) are there costs with these actions above DOJ's salaries, and if so, are they a significant amount of taxpayer money?
Why are BIG law firms folding without a fight against Trump’s threats? The latest EO against WilmerHale is clearly unconstitutional and easily argued, just like the other targets. Yet big law just acquiesces. What gives?
Be our shadow US AG. What decisions would you make differently - and why?
Legal avenues in the case of a foreign power controlling the GOP.
Where’s Anne?
How can a SCOTUS ruling directed at trump if he refuses to comply be enforced. Other persons who would probably be subject to the ruling as well. So, perhaps trump could not be compelled to modify his behavior or ruling, but his underlings could. Could trump pardon them?
Enforcement of court orders if and when the Administration refuses to comply.
How to skirt the supreme court.
Could fired federal workers or the rest of us prevail in a class action against the US, Fox, Musk, Trump, OAN, X, Facebook, etc. over any or all of the harms coming out of this administration? For example, one of my suppliers is raising my prices between 10 and 35% over tariffs. Do I have standing?
Why are our laws working against the US right now?
Just listened to your SOTU podcast w guests. What I didn’t hear were concerns about Trump getting pushback, and declaring a state of emergency to bulldoze through the “inconvenience”- and the response of his servile DOJ and USSC?
One thing I see you and your guests failing to engage with or take seriously is the idea that the destruction Trump is causing to the country and the world is the actual goal. That it’s not some mistake or miscalculation - it’s the point. @garrykasparov.bsky.social
I thought, cynically, that the stock market would be the strongest guardrail that Republicans could not knock over. But it looks like federal judges are pulling ahead. Do you agree? ( and thank you for your amazing podcasts!)
I would like a discussion of defiance of Court orders in historical perspective? Didn’t Andrew Jackson defy a SCOTUS order on the National Bank? Were there any other instances in US history and how does that impact the current situation? #AskPreet (Good to see you over here with the good guys 😉)
What is the legal justification for deporting Ukrainians with legal status?
Will there still be a Justice Dept or is it going to turn into the Dept of Injustice?
youtu.be/wjOG1ohZvVA HeritageFDN/Trump see Hungary as THE model to emulate.Oligarchs control media/newspapers sharing propaganda;fired UniversityBrds replaced with Sympathizers;stole GovtWealth;removed checks&balance; silenced investigations/critical voices.Betray U.S. like Ukraine.Can we STOP this?
Ketamine legalization… seems relevant
Please talk about the ICE arrest of Muhammad Khalil and the legal differences for green card holders vs citizens. I fear this sets a very scary precedent since he was not charged with a crime. #AskPreet
Is Trump untouchable at this point or are there still avenues to enforce the law?
The state of the SCOTUS. Undoubtedly unexplainable.
Getting rid of Dept of Education.
DHS abduction of Mahmoud Khalil from his Columbia student apartment over the weekend
Was it illegal for billionaires to donate millions to Trump’s inaugural committee? Thank you 😊
Just a comment here - thanks for doing the good work!
Can you tell us, from a legal standpoint, whether C. Shumer is correct, in that shutting down the govt. over the budget would allow them to take control of the govt entirely and do disastrous things without judicial oversight and redress?
It's pretty obvious that the constitution is a flawed document that relies too heavily on norms. How do we come back from this dysfunction with so many bad-faith actors controlling the levers of power?
Please discuss the meaning and impact of today’s EO against Perkins. Does the prohibition against entering federal buildings include federal courts?
What can we as citizens do to stop this runaway freight train?
How can we overturn the egregious CU decision that money is free speech protected under our constitution. It seems the only issue truly undermining our democracy.
Based on your experience in the Senate, what do you think are the odds that Justices Thomas and Alito will resign in 2027 in order to preserve the conservative super majority on the Supreme Court? I think that only the egos of the Justices will prevent this. #SupremeCourt #FutureChaos
Most people who call themselves conservatives seem to advance radical policies. Who in American government and punditry can truly call themselves "conservative?"
How we're seemingly moving through the checklist of key elements of a successful coup, such as military loyalty, control of the economy, abandonment of the Constitution by Congress, the takeover of administrative targets and legitimacy which is achieved with backing of the Supreme Court.
Question from a close friend of the US: How on earth could the judicial processes fail so completely and utterly as in the last 4 years. How can it be that there are no firm guardrails? How can it be that apparently, you just need to ignore, delay to get away with crimes that are of some gravity?
Why cant we the people sue or ? tRump et al This WH administration is breaking the law violating our societal contract via the constitution , checks and balances and violating established laws.
