I hate gerrymandering. It’s an outright offense to the project of democracy. Dems need to continue to talking about the anti-gerrymandering legislation non-stop and denounce gerrymandering across the board, even as they’re forced to match the GOP’s moves. Make it an anti-corruption conversation.
And what will that accomplish with Texas and Florida Republicans started? They are going to gerrymander Democrats into oblivion.
Yeah, I don’t think Dems have a real choice but to do the same, as shitty as it is. But while they’re doing that, they need to ensure the message is: we should legislatively eliminate gerrymandering and anyone opposed to that are dirty cheaters who want a one party state aka authoritarianism.
