What way do we have to “focus on the real problem” other than demanding action from elected democrats? Do you have an answer here? We’re not fans, we’re constituents. It’s reasonable to demand more from our elected officials!

Of course you should demand more when you believe your elected officials are not representing you. And there are all sorts of ways to be involved. Reach out to the local party organization or find a group working on an issue in which you are interested and volunteer to help.
