The only things our country has ever done right: The New Deal and the surprising Civil Rights decisions from the conservative Supreme Court in the 60s. I didn't mention "ending slavery" because if you know actual history, it never ended.

I am in genuine agreement. I love socialism, true socialism. Communism is another word for fascism, to me.

This has to be clarified whenever discussion comes up. USSR communism, Trump capitalism, these are the same political coin but the sides stamped differently.

Not true at all. There are explicitly communist currents that reject Marxism-Leninism but aren’t just socialism. Anarcho-communism, Council Communism, and Left Communism all define themselves as communist, while directly against Leninist statist principles.

More to the point, there's a sweet spot in the sort of socialism we could call social democracy. It doesn't try to "communize" every single thing. That ends up becoming a charade. It's more a social obligation of the rich.
