Exactly this. For those pushing back against the claim that the US is now an autocracy, how do you have democracy if the laws don't apply to the executive? Isn't rule of law a basic requirement of democracy?

It annoys me to no end when people are celebrating victories in the courts that we all know that they will ultimately disobey. Or to pin their hopes on midterm elections or the next presidential election. Are they not paying attention? Have they no sense of historical precedent? It's a new order.
