Yeah i got a few of those right now. Found a tutorial that suggested adding a little chunk of the crooked ones to the too of the jar so you can test how the fermentation is going
hornworms destroyed my tomatoes in like a day. and these guys destroyed my parsley so i put them in caterpillar jail.
Gardening is so annoying. My big garden bed of high altitude drought tolerant ornamentals (all 7 of them) that ive been fiddling with for 10 years was completely destroyed by ground squirrels and I'm going to have to dig out everything and add wire to the bottom/sides
I'm not like the most trendy or imfluencer-brained person but something about the aesthetics of the fancy pickling supplies (these glass "pickle pebbles" especially) is 😇 to me
No one else in the House of D-Money will eat them, but I nose-to-tail-ed some kohlrabi (sauté the leaves, turn the inner part of the root into a quick pickle, and lacto-ferment the stems and outer part of the root
Yum! I love kohlrabi but ive never tried it pickled!
I will say probably don’t do the quick pickle with daikon: it’s a pretty purple color and it tastes about the same as the plain kohlrabi, but it smells SO BAD.
That's random/good to know, the tapas place down the street does a super sweet bright yellow pickled daikon and its so good, ive always wondered how they do it...
I have some of those (it's been too long since I've made pickles, I should fix that) and I absolutely agree. I have almost purchased some lovely stone crocks that I absolutely do not have the space for
*Gritting teeth* she's just like me
I need to find the pickle sweater my wife picked out for me
Damn I need a pickle sweater!
Yo that's a sick pickle sock sticker (this is so fun to say)
They send you 2 free stickers with each order, so I have... more than 2 stickers! I like them but you know there's only so many different pride color variants of the same logo I need in sticker form
pouring one out to… Hestia? for good pickles 🥒
Hell yeah Hestia
They're so beautiful. May the passing of that lovely green color be seen by the Gods of Fermentation as a sacrifice worthy of bestowing supreme flavor in return.
