Question: Why is my first gen iPad Pro still going (albeit if I monitor the number of apps open in background so as to not overwhelm it)? I am surprised that iOS updates still support this. Any ideas?

Easy. Apple is in 100% control of the entire stack. They build their own OSes and design their own processors to run them. Nobody else has this type of integration. Maybe I’ll have to do an iPad version of this chart I made showing iPhone iOS support.
