In all seriousness I do think that it should be eliminated. It’s mostly a benefit for the wealthy.

In California, we have very high housing prices. Between the elimination of the mortgage interest deduction in the 2017 tax bill and the cap on SALT, we went from getting a sizable refund to a huge bill. We're middle class, not high earners at all- all our middle class friends are in the same boat
